[0] InfoSec - Over the years, a lot of my interests have led down into cybersecurity/infosec communities. - I've been keeping up with this side of the internet for many years, but I've mostly been a spectator. - I frequent databreaches.net and bleepingcomputer.com for most of my news. [1] Data Scraping - I love collecting data at scale. It's just a super odd thing, but I would eat, sleep, and breathe scraping if I could. - The data doesn't even have to be useful, it just has to exist. - It also is an super important skill with web application security testing and for building almost all programs requiring use of an external API. [2] Blockchain Tracing - While going into work with smart contracts and other blockchain technology, I got really into tracing funds around. - Due to the nature of most blockchains, you can build lists of transactions and addresses associated with people on the network. - This is useful for matching trades, proving existence of funds for transactions, following "smart" money, and for watching along with cryptocurrency hacks. [3] Rare Usernames - When I was younger, I got pretty into collecting usernames on social media sites. - I would collect usernames all any site that had them, but I've since slowed down and mostly stopped caring to acquire more. - Started doing the collecting in around 2016/2017 starting with Minecraft and grew from there. [4] Movie Watching - A while back I purchased a projector and I've started to really use the heck out of it. - I have an IMDB page I maintain where as of 7/6/2024, I have rated 146 movies and shows in the last 143 days. - Favorite genres are history and romcoms. Typically not too close to each other though. That'd be an interesting binge session.
